Career Suggestion?
I find out last month that there is a big possibility of me loosing my job for next year. The state is making more budget cuts and our district is cutting back anyhwere they can. I will be devasted to loose my job because I seriously love what I do. I feel like I am back in high school and trying to figure out what to do with my life. I am going to hold on to my teaching career as long as I can, but I need a plan for the future. Should I go back to school? If so what should I go for? Should I just say heck with it and roll with the punches and become a fry's bag lady? Should I get knocked up reguardless of the unkown future? I would love any help or suggestions about careers or school. What do you think I should do? What would I be good at? I can't seem to figure it out. HELP!

Gilly, We both like a schedule. I am sorry you are feeling so stressed. Like I said I have a good feeling that you will have a job next year with P.E. I of course can not promise you this. The having a baby thing is really up to you. I would say knowing you, that it would be best to have a baby when you are feeling good about it. But obviously you are the only one that can decide when you want the baby. You have a few months before school ends to look into new school or career options just in case. Try not to sress so much. Nice advice from me I know. I stress so easily.-Reina
So I was talking to Bryce about your situation, and maybe you should try to research the nursing feild a little better. There are so many different opptions, and I'm sure there has got to be one of them that doesn't totally suck! and maybe it won't be as fun as teaching pe, but you wouldn't ever have to worry about being layed off, and if you are lucky you could get the hospital to pay for schooling, ooo or what about going into nutrition or dietition. Sorry I know these suggestions aren't very helpful! I will keep thinking about it!
What about furthering your education and teaching college pe? Or could you teach health?
what about doing mani's and pedi's. I know a lady who works from home. I have her blog on my blog it's called nail art. She does glitter toes and what not. I love her stuff and I could totally see you doing something like that! Plus you can make your own schedules. She said that her husband got layed off and she was supporting them with just doig nails. She also said that she was suprised at how fast she got a cliental. She is so busy that she won't even see new clients anymore!
Kit-thanks for all of your suggestions! I thought about going back to get my masters so i could teach some college courses, however, those jobs have been getting cut too. We dont have glitter toes in AZ so who knows.

I think peeps in the AZ are missing out on the glitter toes! You are amazing with glitter check out that girls blog! I was also looking at Pharm techs. It's an associates degree and I think their average salary a year is 30k. I was also looking up differnt nursing careers these ones seemed the least scary, school nurse, community nurse (basically teaches the communities and families how to be healthy), and last but not least there is the office nurse- bryce said that some office nurses are only required to take their blood pressure, put them on the scale, ask them a bunch of questions about their health, and then tell them the doctor will be in shortly. A lot of places don't even do blood work or anything, but you would still have to learn how to I'm sure!
I think maybe I should be the one to introduce glitter toes to AZ! Is there a school for that?
Elisha
The lady I go to went to nail school, and she said that was where she learned all of her tricks! Plus they have continuing coarses if you ever need fresh ideas. I am sure the AZ has something similar! Here is a website that I thought looked interesting
http://www.academyofnails.net/
Here is another link it lists a lot of different beauty schools in AZ.
